  5. 1/4 cup seasonal vegetable like lauki,france beans,cauliflower,

  7. 2 tbsp oil
  8. 1 tbsp mustard seeds
  9. 1/4 tbsp asaefotida
  10. 1 inch ginger piece chopped
  11. 1 green chilli chopped
  12. as per taste Salt
  13. 1 tbsp kashmiri red chilli powder
  14. 2 tbsp sambhar masala
  15. 1 tbsp turmeric powder
  16. 2 tbsp Tamarind pulp

Steps to make to make Sambhar

  1. Wash dal 2 - 3 times then add it in the pressure cooker along with two cups of water and cook it on medium heat for 4 - 5 whistles. Add some water to the dal and blend it with a hand blender or a whisk.
  2. In a voke heat oil and add asaefotida, mustard add fenugreek seeds when cracked add curry leaves,dry red chilli, chopped ginger and green chilli.
  3. Now add chopped onion to it and saute until translucent. Now add all other vegetables and give it a good mix. Add turmeric powder, kashmiri red chilli powder, red chilli powder, sambar masala, salt and tamarind pulp to it and mix it.
  4. Now add toor dal to it and add enough water to adjust the consistency according to your choice. Now Let it cook on medium heat until all the vegetables are done. Keep stirring in between. Cook it at least 15 minutes.
  5. Serve sambhar hot with idli
